I'm continuing with my resolution to wear what's in my closet instead of hunting down the cheap thrill of new closet clutter. As it turns out 'm wearing a lot of denim, which is unusual during the work week because I like to dress up a little more than that in case a client is in the house. I suspect once I fully return to work mode I'll slip right back into my tomboy all-black sleek Theory trousers and such.
Man, I love 6397. Not because they're innovative in the creation of new shapes or textures, but in the cool ass way they style outfits in a way I would actually wear them. Right down to the choice of footwear. If I had to describe my tomboy casual style I think from now on I'm going to say "6397, bro."
The endearing thing about Margaux Brooke is how much she balances the goth innocence of Winona Ryder in Beetlejuice and Rooney Mara in The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. Her edginess is inspiring to me, but it's mostly how she achieves it via colors and unexpected textures.
Happy New Year, everyone. It's been a reflective couple of days in this brand new years so I'm afraid I have nothing compelling or even funny to discuss, but I will note that in this outfit I'm pretty much supremely comfortable with the court jester nature of it all; the ostentatious faux fur coat in a muddy white (to match my well-worn bag, obviously) highlighting the bright whiteness of the clownish Comme des Garçons top, and a pair of three sizes too big Zara boyfriend pants.
