Simone Rocha Spring/Summer 2019
I love watching this moving because Gwyneth Paltrow’s wardrobe in it is pretty fantastic. That coat (!), the Hermes scarf elegantly folded and tucked under a neutral and otherwise unassuming outfit, the hair neatly tucked and pinned with a minimal hair clip, the simple diamond earrings, and a red lip. Paltrow’s character has very few outfits in this movie, but the way they are styled makes it so memorable to me. What’s more interesting is that this movie is over 20 years old at this point, but the outfits are timeless.
Hold on to less because you buy less. I went through every closet, hiding spot, and shelf in my house to get rid of anything that doesn’t make sense to hold on to. Even if it’s nice, even if it’s new. Time to let go and begin again with less.
Gucci pre-fall aesthetically captures my party mood this holiday season;
Where you’re too cold to get dressed up properly, so you put on mismatched layers and socks to cover up, and next thing you know you look like those little kids that parents let dress themselves to school and other events, except you’re in your thirties now and that’s kind of strange, but you’re out! so be happy you’ve blessed this gathering with your presence to begin with, even though now leaving the house you realize that staying in would have been nice too, without all the makeup and the effort, but that’s not how you keep friends, you must be a friend to have a friend etc, so let’s put on some music and get a drink and get this party going then.
Not only rooting for you, but looking forward to getting out there, voting, and keeping this movement alive.
Go, AOC, go!
To see a woman like her on the cover of Vogue (even if it is Mexican Vogue) is a huge deal for Mexico, women of color, and any human on this planet that is wanting more diverse portrayals of what it means to be beautiful. She looks regal, gorgeous, and modern here. I will be searching this out on news stands and buying one because bravo.
More. of. this. please.
